Hello from Retrace Apps

Retrace Apps is a project inspired by a keen interest in technology, photography, history and in particular, historical sites. Over the years we have visited a number of sites around the country and found the information provided was very sparse.
Now, I would have to say that in most recent years it has improved but often the most interesting pieces are left out. For instance, I don’t know how many times I’ve visited Muckross Abbey, in the grounds of Killarney National Park with family and friends but I only recently heard the sad and intriguing story of the hermit John Drake (more information on him in my next post). Also there is apparently an Egyptian queen buried somewhere near Inch, Co. Kerry – not sure about that one could be local legend but interesting just the same.
The Retrace Apps project is about sharing the interesting facts we have gathered about the sites we’ve visited. Hopefully, you’ll find the blog interesting and apps useful. We are making the apps ourselves so we are here fighting with Dreamweaver, Phonegap and Android – iPhone seems to be behaving itself – but we hope to expand our selection and create some web apps as well as native ones.
